5 Tips to Write a Better Resource Box
One of the most powerful ways to generate traffic that is highly targeted to your niche is to write articles and submit them to various article directories.Article marketing can send lots of visitors to you IF you create a compelling bio box or resource box.
Here are five tips you can use to create a better resource box :
Tip #1: Offer something for free.
Readers can’t resist getting something for nothing. So instead of your usual “Jane Doe is the owner of XYZSite.com,” write something like, “To download a free report about (the same subject matter the article was about), visit www.Domain.com.”
Tip #2: Offer part two of the article through your link.
Just because you write an article doesn’t mean it’s the end of the topic. You can carry it on to part two and entice the reader to click through on your link using a statement like this: “To read part two of [article title], and find out [an interesting fact starting with who, what, why, how, when, or where], click here.”
You want to piqué their interest and not just say, “for part two, click here.” By using an interesting fact or piquing their curiosity, it makes them want to know the end of the story.

Tip #3: Concentrate more on what you’re offering rather than your name.
As a writer, maybe your goal would be to get a byline in various publications.But as a marketer, it’s more important to get the reader to click through on your link, if traffic is your primary goal. The only time you’d want to emphasize your name in the resource box is if you’re writing and distributing articles in an effort to brand your name and position yourself as the go-to expert in your field or niche.
Tip #4: Give a call to action.
Don’t just list your link and assume they’ll click on it. You have to state your call to action in clear details, such as, “Click on the link and download your FREE 30-day trial of XYZ software right now!”
Tip #5: Test and tweak your resource boxes.
Each time you submit a new article, you should have a slightly different resource box. Track the results to see how many click-throughs you get for each one. Then tweak it until you’ve maximized the resource box.
Remember – your signature file within your resource box is just as important as the title and content of the article itself. Don’t shortchange yourself by failing to execute it so that it benefits your business.
